House Painters and Decorators | Lower Hutt | Upper Hutt | Whitby | Wellington
Health & Safety
This page sets out key principles and painting and decorating requirements working under COVID-19 Alert Levels 2 and 3, as recommended by the Ministry of Health.
The scenario surrounding the outbreak in relation to our painting and decorating business is fluid—as things change, our procedures may be updated.
Exterior estimates will be carried out by one team member only, around the outside of the house, with no need for direct physical interaction with the homeowner. If the homeowner is available by phone during this time, it would be helpful.
Interior estimates will be carried out by one team member only, coming into the house, preferably without the homeowner present. If the homeowner is available by phone during this time, again, it would be helpful. If access is not possible, the homeowner may allow us entry but we would prefer not to be in the same room with them to respect the rules of social distancing.
We are currently not offering person-to-person estimates or taking direct payments from homeowners, rather we will email you your estimate and all payments are required to be paid electronically.
We will keep crew size to a minimum, typically one or two people, depending on the constraints of the job.
Our team will practice social distancing and try to keep two metres apart. Anyone showing possible symptoms will stay at home.
We will wash and sanitise our hands before commencing work, then when work is completed and as often as possible on the job.
We would prefer if the homeowner is not home during production. After our crew has inspected their work, customers will inspect the job on their own while the crew is not present.
We are unable to carry our work if there is anyone at the property who is diagnosed with COVID-19, unwell and could potentially have COVID-19, has arrived from
overseas in the last 14 days or is currently in isolation.
